For a long time, I could never figure out why everyone said strawberry was their favorite ice cream flavor - it always seemed to tasteless and bland. That is, until I tasted some truly homemade strawberry ice cream. It was love then. Is there really any reason as to "why" our favorites are our favorites? I just love the freshness of the fruit mixed within a sugary, creamy mess.
Fortunately, I went vegan a few years ago and, fairly recently, discovered the soy ice cream lines. However, they seem to never match up to the taste of homemade.

Vanilla is my all-time favorite. It just reminds me of so many favorite childhood memories: going to the ice cream parlor in my tiny hometown with my grandma, laughing as the ice cream accidentally fell off of my cone and onto my softball uniform after my team's big win, and just dressing it up with any kind of sprinkles! Though that tiny ice cream parlor in my hometown doesn't serve vegan ice cream, it's still great to be able to enjoy those memories while eating some tasty, healthy vegan vanilla ice cream at home!

Bubble Gum ice cream was always my favorite. There is something fun about little chunks of frozen 'gum' in your ice cream. It also reminds me of childhood (we all need to find ways to stay in touch with our inner child, right?). It was one of the things I really missed until we started making our own vegan ice cream. Now we can make whatever flavor - some personal favorites: bubble gum (of course) and also vegan shamrock shakes.

I think Strawberry might be my favorite because it looks so appealing. I had access to fresh strawberries maybe once a year when I was little, but if I managed to get my hands on a cone, and there were bits of (sort-of) real fruit in it, and it looked so delightfully bright and fun and appealing, it was just as special.

It depends on my mood for what the flavor of the day will be.
Sometimes, something simple like Vanilla...but other times --as much stuff that can be loaded into it is more to my liking. (caramel, nuts, cookie dough, etc etc!!!)
Mmmmmmmm Ice Cream.........
Lately I've been moving to more raw foods and I've been in love with the "ice creams".
You can simply whiz frozen banana in a blender and add some things to that for a fabulous and *healthy!* dessert ---it really feels like you're indulging...
There are also nut-based, coconut milk based, etc "ice creams" that are raw too, but for something REAL easy and REAL quick, whiz some frozen bananas with other fruits/agave/dates/chocolate -whatever and you won't be disappointed!

Neapolitan because you get the depth of the chocolate, the cleansing of the vanilla, and the little bit of tartness from the strawberry!

Why? LOL - because I read somewhere that one way to cut down on calories is to eat ice cream with fruit in it because the fruit has less calories than the ice cream.

Root Beer ice cream is my favorite. My family used to take me to the local Dairy Queen and I'd always choose the root beer ice cream for my milkshake. My second favorite, a very close favorite, is licorice flavored ice cream. I'm a vegan now, and haven't found a root beer flavored, dairy alternative flavored frozen dessert, but it sure would be nice to be able to make it at home....maybe this book will include a recipe for this. ~crossing fingers~

Growing up, I was never a fan of icecream, having only ever tried flavors such as chocolate and vanilla. Then, last summer I went to a new icecream place in my town, which had over 30 flavors. When I was flirting with the cute guy who worked there (he told me he was a vegetarian!) I told him to order me his favorite flavor. That flavor was Mint Chocolate chip, and it was the most delicious item of food I've ever tasted. The mint cooled me down, while the chocolate chips melted in my mouth. It was heavenly.

Keshet:
Although I believe that you can't go wrong with ice cream, my love and appreciation for the diversity of this fine culinary feat would have to push me towards going with "Other!"Growing up, I was a BIG fan of peanut butter, even in my ice cream! (Peanut butter and chocolate...peanut butter and brownie...peanut butter out of the jar is still the ultimate winner!) Since then, my adoration for ice cream has grown as my taste buds havce also matured--green tea ice cream and lychee are current summer favs! Light and refreshing! Mmm-mmm, delish!

Vanilla is like non of the other flavors. You will never ever be able to explain the taste of this amazing flavor. Also, any other fruits or nuts can be added without it coming out tasting horrid. Just recently, a visited an icecream parlour and my friend encouraged me to try adding things in to my usual, basic vanilla icecream in a simple waffle cone. With some wavering, I ended up asking for fresh strawberries and oreo crumbs to be added, and mixed altogether. The outcome was absolutely divine. If you top it off with a waffle cone halfway dipped in white chocolate and oreo bits, it's just about off the charts.
Mmmmmmmm.

Neapolitan- due to the fact this holds childhood memories, neapolitan is my favorite for three reasons.
reason one.
vanilla is the lightest of the three flavors. the light flavor almost melts in your mouth as it prepares you for reason two.
chocolate. you have vegan ice cream. chocolate is the most sinful out of these. indulge in the richness, which is a great contrast to vanilla.
reason three. strawberry- the most natural of the three flavors is almost like a tastebud roller coaster of light to rich.
yummy yummy nums :)

I chose other. Chocolate and green tea are close seconds but I am crazy about corn ice cream. It is very common in Brazil. I love the earthy flavor of it and it lends a nice aftertaste despite the sweetness. It's subtle.

Mint Chocolate Chip.
Why?
Because first off, it's got chocolate chips and seriously, who doesn't like those? Chocolate chips add a nice little dose of happiness to anything.
Then you've also got the fresh and cool mint power. Mint really does refresh you and energize you. So why shouldn't a refreshing, energizing dose of happiness be my favourite?

My all time favorite flavor is: Pecan Praline and Cream. Even though I was born in Denver, I was raised the south: Houston, Texas. I love the southern taste of the pecan and the praline is just the complements it so well.
If you have never tasted it and are a vegetarian (don't know much about vegan friendly ice cream)... I would definitely give it a go.
